Hello! I'm Shana Montgomery, master hairstylist, and owner of Fringe Theory Salon. I'm a Louisville, Kentucky native with over 24 years of experience spent honing my craft in the beauty industry and healing hair trauma. When a client sees their new look for the first time, I'm often told, "You read my mind.", but prefer collaboration when bringing your desired image to life. I am best known for having a discerning eye for color, but my signature service is a face framing fringe. My main focus above all else is the health and integrity of my clients' hair, while using only the safest, highest quality products and color by Goldwell. Goldwell is a German company that follows the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation guidelines which has banned or restricted more than 1,300 chemicals from being used in Europe's beauty products and hair color. This is in comparison to the FDA'S 11. Goldwell is also the only color line that is recommended by dermatologists for those with skin sensitivities. Fringe Theory Salon is a private studio space established in 2014, and is located in a Sola Salons. Every appointment is a completely one on one experience, and each and every service is personally executed by me. For a truly bespoke experience, color formulations are designed specifically for your hair's unique needs, and are never used on another guest. I find inspiration from beauty trends throughout history, film, nature, architecture, and design. My style is both practical and whimsical, modern yet vintage, and classic with an edge. I'm a perfectionist, but can also find beauty in imperfection. I truly love what I do, and want you to feel heard, and catered to while you are in my chair. And when you leave, projecting the best version of yourself. Confident, relaxed, and revitalized. Please read the cancellation policy carefully before reserving your appointment to avoid being charged unwanted fees. At this time I am not accepting appointments for children under the age of 13 who's parents or caregivers are not currently clients. I also can not accept appointments for those who color their hair at home, or wear any type of non-professional color unless the appointment is for a color correction and haircut. I will not provide color services for guests who's hair is being cut by another stylist, as this can change the intended placement and overall outcome of the desired result. Fringe Theory Salon is a Barbicide Certified Safe Service Establishment. Shana is also personally Barbicide certified in proper sanitation and disinfection practices and procedures consistent with the current highest industry standards. Barbicide is the gold standard of salon sanitation products, and is a medical grade disinfectant. Shana is committed to the safety of her clients and guests, as well as her own, and is strictly following, and enforcing all guidelines put into place by the CDC, Barbicide and the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists. Please allow 24 hours for a response to text messages, voicemails, emails, website inquiries, and appointment approvals. Cancellation Policy
Fringe Theory Salon
Cancellation Policy as of 9/1/23
Please read the following cancellation policy carefully to avoid being charged any unwanted fees.
In order to reserve time on the stylist's schedule, a credit or debit card will be required to be kept on file.
A fee of 25% of the cost of all scheduled services will be charged if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled once the appointment time has been reserved, up to 1 week prior to the appointment. There is a 24 hour window in which amendments to reservations may be made without a fee.
A fee of 50% of the cost of all scheduled services will be charged if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled within one week of the scheduled reservation time, up to 24 hours before the appointment.
A fee of 100% of the cost of all scheduled services will be charged if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours or less of the scheduled reservation time.
The "cost of all scheduled services" includes complimentary services and birthday perks due to the amount of time that was reserved for these services.
Holiday Cancellation Policy:
All appointments reserved November 1st through December 31st, (excluding same day cancellations or cancellations made within 24 hours or less which will be charged 100% the cost of services) will be charged 50% of the cost of all scheduled services canceled or rescheduled during that reservation period.
Derby Cancellation Policy:
All appointments reserved two weeks before and leading up to the first Saturday in May, (Derby Day) will be charged 50% of the cost of all scheduled services canceled or rescheduled during that reservation period, (excluding same day cancellations or cancellations made within in 24 hrs. or less, which will be charged 100% of the cost of services).
If you are unable to keep your appointment, but have a friend or family member who would like to take your reservation time, simply text Shana, (502-592-8658) with their name and let her know that they are taking your reservation. In this case, you will not be charged for a missed appointment if it is of equal service or time value. You will also not be charged for the missed appointment if your reserved appointment time can be filled by another client from the waitlist.
