Owned and operated by Shana Montgomery, a licensed Master Hairstylist and Colorist, dedicated to the craft of creating healthy, beautiful hair. Shana, a proud Louisville, Kentucky native, has spent her career perfecting the skill of healing hair trauma, for a truly transformative salon experience. Shana’s expertise lies in her discerning eye for color, combined with an in-depth mastery of color theory, and a profound understanding of hair health. Each client’s unique hair needs and goals are addressed through custom formulations designed just for them. Her main priority is always the health and integrity of the hair, while ensuring that every look is an expression of the individual’s desired aesthetic. Fringe Theory Salon proudly uses Goldwell, a line known for its commitment to the highest standards of hair care. With rigorous adherence to the EU’s Cosmetic Products Regulation—which bans or restricts over 1,300 chemicals—Goldwell offers the safest, most advanced hair color and care products available. In fact, it’s the only color line recommended by dermatologists for those with sensitive skin. Established in 2014, Fringe Theory Salon is a private, one-on-one studio located within Sola Salons Springhurst. Every service is personally performed by Shana herself, ensuring a customized and intimate experience for each guest. From precision haircuts to bespoke color blends, she works closely with you to craft a look that is uniquely yours. “You’ll never hear me say, ‘It’s just hair.’ It’s so much more than that. My goal is to leave you feeling like the best version of yourself—confident, relaxed, and inspired.” – Shana Montgomery At this time, Shana is not accepting appointments for children under the age of 13 whose parents or caregivers are not currently clients. She also can not accept appointments for those who color their hair at home or wear any type of non-professional color unless the appointment is for a color correction and haircut. Shana will not provide color services for guests whose hair is being cut by another stylist, as this can change the intended placement and overall outcome of the desired result. Fringe Theory Salon is a Barbicide Certified Safe Service Establishment. Shana is also personally Barbicide certified in proper sanitation and disinfection practices and procedures consistent with the current highest industry standards. Barbicide is the gold standard of salon sanitation products and is a medical grade disinfectant. Shana is committed to the safety of her clients and is strictly following and enforcing all guidelines put into place by the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, Barbicide, and the CDC. PLEASE READ THE CANCELLATION POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE RESERVING YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME TO AVOID BEING CHARGED UNWANTED FEES. Please allow 24 hours for a response to text messages, voicemails, emails, website inquiries, social media direct messages, and appointment approvals. Responses will be made during regular salon business hours Tuesday through Saturday.

Cancellation Policy

Fringe Theory Salon Cancellation Policy: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CANCELLATION POLICY CAREFULLY TO AVOID BEING CHARGED ANY UNWANTED FEES. In order to reserve time on the stylist's schedule, a credit or debit card is required to be kept on file. There is a 24-hour window in which amendments to reservations may be made without a fee. A fee of 25% of the cost of all scheduled services will be charged if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled once the appointment time has been reserved, up to 1 week prior to the appointment. A fee of 50% of the cost of all scheduled services will be charged if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled within one week of the scheduled reservation time, up to 24 hours before the appointment. A fee of 100% of the cost of all scheduled services will be charged if the appointment is canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours or less of the scheduled reservation time. The "cost of all scheduled services" includes complimentary services and birthday perks due to the amount of time that was reserved for these services. The exception to this is medical emergencies and acts of God. Holiday Cancellation Policy: All appointments reserved November 1st through December 31st, (excluding same day cancellations or cancellations made within 24 hours or less which will be charged 100% the cost of services) will be charged 50% of the cost of all scheduled services canceled or rescheduled during that reservation period. Derby Cancellation Policy: All appointments reserved two weeks before and leading up to the first Saturday in May, (Derby Day) will be charged 50% of the cost of all scheduled services canceled or rescheduled during that reservation period, (excluding same day cancellations or cancellations made within in 24 hrs. or less, which will be charged 100% of the cost of services). If you are unable to keep your appointment, but have a friend or family member who would like to take your reservation time, simply text Shana, (502-592-8658) with their name and let her know that they are taking your reservation. In this case, you will not be charged for a missed appointment if it is of equal service or time value. You will also not be charged for the missed appointment if your reserved appointment time can be filled by another client from the stylist's waitlist.
